Our Causes

Even though we had to leave the Dominican Republic, we are still doing all we can to help from here in the U.S.  We support the following organizations through fundraising with our etsy shop and raising awareness by sharing our story and experience with others as part of Half the Sky Movement.  Please check these organizations out and see how you can get involved too!
The Fistula Foundation

Women in the poorest places on earth suffer from fistula and other severe birth injuries due to unrelieved obstructed labor and inadequate maternal healthcare.  The mission of the Fistula Foundation is to raise awareness of and funding for fistula treatment, and prevention and educational programs worldwide.  This cause is near and dear to my heart as I have recently found out the devastating effects of poor maternal healthcare firsthand, and am so blessed to know the miracle of my healthy baby girl that so many of these women don't.  To find out more information and how you can get more involved, visit www.fistulafoundation.org.

La Alianza Contra El Comercio Sexual en la Republica Dominicana

"La Alianza Contra Comercio Sexual en la Republica Dominican" is Spanish for "The Alliance Against Sex Trafficking in the Dominican Republic".  In the DR, human trafficking and sex trafficking in particular is rampant and results in heartbreaking stories for so many girls and women that we've met during our time there.  To find out more and learn how you can help , please visit:  www.laalianzadr.blogspot.com.
You can also support this ministry through their American partner organization "Priceless International", who you can find on facebook.
